Juggers 12 S&L 29
Makeshift Juggers have fun in the sun
On a very warm Saturday afternoon, the Juggers (well a few of them) welcomed S&L (with a smattering of Oundle) to Fortress Fengate so our visitors could enjoy their tour.
With less than 15, the East Northants Conglomerate (ENC) kindly lent us players to enable everyone to get as much game time as possible.
The first half was a pretty close affair, with both sides probing (particularly the younger members of the Juggers), but scoring chances limited. ENC did get a try, converted, and we got one as well, with Tanaka appearing to defy the laws of physics as he first stepped and then scorched his way to the line.
Half time Juggers 5 ENC 7
The second half was a more open affair, with ENC able to get the ball out wide, where their speedy young winger was able to score. However, we kept at it, and were able to get a try when Pete (aka the Gas Man) was able to intercept a pass in the ENC half and sprint to score under the posts. We ran out of gas as the half progressed (us oldies where just knackered in the heat, and the youth had played the night before, and may have had some refreshment in the meantime - to keep hydration levels up).
Final score Juggers 12 ENC 29
Our thanks to S&L for a great game, and the loan of some players, and to our match official.
The Juggers who played, thank you to Redsy, Alan, Jason, Gary, Notty, Sean, Pete, Tanaka, Smeds (the younger), Jason (the younger) and Hinchy (the younger).
We have one final hurrah this season, away at Deeping on Saturday 19 May for their memorial match. Lets get as many of us there as possible.
