Star co-boss Michael Goode says Peterborough Sports will be paid maximum respect ahead of a mouth-watering Hinchingbrooke Cup tie tonight (Tuesday).

Sports make their first competitive visit to the Mick George Arena and Goode is adamant the Division One high-flyers will not be taken lightly by their Premier Division hosts.
Star are on the crest of a wave after a stunning United Counties League Premier Division triumph at table-topping Holbeach on Saturday, but Sports also arrive in fine form after reeling off six successive victories.
“There is absolutely no chance of Sports being taken lightly,” insisted Goode (pictured). “The lads are well aware of what tonight means to the club.
“This is a wide-open competition every season and almost all the teams involved will believe they can win it.
“We watched Sports in action last week and my co-boss Darren Jarvis was very impressed by what he saw.
“They’ve been in great form lately and have picked up plenty of good results. We know we are in for a proper game and I just hope the people of Peterborough turn out in force.
“Everyone loves being involved in derby games and it would be great to see Sports get promoted to the Premier Division.
“We’ve lost Blackstones and Bourne in recent years and I’m sure all the clubs around here would be happy about another local team coming up.”
Star were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the Hinchingbrooke Cup last season when losing 4-1 at Stotfold in a game played on a Thursday night due to the Bedfordshire side’s fixture backlog.
Star have the opportunity to gain revenge when entertaining Stotfold, who play in the Spartan South Midlands League, in an FA Vase first round proper tie here at the Mick George Arena on November 1.
Former Star managers Chris Plummer, Tommy Cooper and Alex Brown all return to the club as part of the Sports set-up tonight.
Cooper is chairman, Plummer is manager and Brown is his number two.
There are also plenty of links on the pitch with the two teams are likely to contain players who have represented the other club.
