. They dominated Overton, particularly in open play, but more importantly played well together as a team, getting the basics right and linking well to produce good team tries as well as some impressive individual scores. The forwards all played well, working hard together in the tight and generally looking organised in the loose, although some are still too slow to the breakdown (and then inclined to stand and watch). The backs linked well in attack and tracked well when called upon in defence. The one fly in the ointment was the team's discipline and it is no surprise that the only time Overton crossed Petersfield's line stemmed from another silly penalty for infringing in the loose (and stern words from the referee on some players' reaction).

It's difficult to single out players in a very good overall team performance, but Nick Blumlein ran things well from fly half, kicking accurately out of hand and converting five of Petersfield's six tries, three of them scored by him with some powerful running. The other try scorers were Isaac Tarling, Freddie Rainbow and team captain Adam Haldenby. Player of the week was Jordan Moore whose early tackling and work in the loose set the standard for an excellent team effort.

There is clearly work to be done, especially at the breakdown and in improving discipline, but Petersfield can be well pleased with this start to the season."
