There has been a break-in at the Club. This occurred early Tuesday morning (9th) at about 02:30/02:45.

It would appear that police were in the area and may have disturbed the thieves who were seen running away across the pitches.

Wendy Wilson was the first club member to discover the break-in later on Tuesday morning.

The door to the store cupboard appears to have been smashed open with an axe and most of the windows in the café doors have been broken. The police have boarded up both doors.

It appears that the thieves cut their way into the club safe with an angle grinder, making off with the club float. There were no takings in the safe.

The cafe is a mess, but Wendy Wilson reckons that she and Sarah can get it cleaned up on Wednesday - there's a lot of mess in a relatively small area.

No the police forensics team have done their work, the clubhouse is ours to sort out.

It does not appear as if they accessed any other areas of the clubhouse, and the upstairs is untouched as are the changing rooms.

The café may be out of action for a while, we cannot quantify the scale of the loss or the inconvenience at this stage.

More information to follow when know.
