With temperatures in the minus figures this morning the course, which has a practical, outside element, was at risk of being cancelled. However with large numbers travelling from across Hampshire and beyond it was decided to run the course with some adaptations.
Plenty of hot drinks and biscuits and lots of enthusiasm from participants and trainers meant the session was a success with nearly 50 attendees. Even the sun played along thawing the pitches out enough for the practical session to practice and embed the safe practices taught.
The trainers were Clive Blackett and PRFC's own Steve Penberthy who both shared their own passion and experiences to connect with the participants.
The IRB Rugby Ready programme is intended to raise awareness of good practice and help stakeholders manage the inherent risks of a contact sport by putting appropriate safeguards in place.
