We are sad to report the passing of Steve Bridges, a player with our club in the 1970s/ 1980s

Steve was a Royal Navy officer based at Portsmouth, and he elected to play at PRFC. He was a fine attacking fullback and fearless tackler. He was also a delight to be with, always displaying a lively wit and a keen enjoyment of life.
Steve lost both legs through diabetes, but this in no way restricted his love of life. Only recently, Steve accompanied his grandson on a mini rugby tour. A true rugby man in every sense of the word.
A memorial service will follow Steve’s cremation (family and close friends only). The memorial service will be on Monday July 4th at 1pm at the Church of St James the Great in Winscombe, Avon.
The family have nominated the following charities for those who wish to make a donation in Steve’s memory:
1. British Heart Institute
2. Winscombe RFC
Cheques payable to the above should be sent to :
CV Gower & Sons Ltd
Funeral Directors
7, The square
Winscombe
Avon
BS25 1BS
Our sincere condolences go to Anne and the family.
From all at Petersfield RFC.

The club has made a donation to Winscombe RFC.
