Current first team boss Matt Short will be stepping down at the end of the season and now the Wessex League Division 1 club have started their search for his replacement.
Chairman Graeme Moir is looking for someone who can take the club forward and build on the good work that has already been carried out at the club.
He said: “I would like to thank Matt for everything he has done for the club as manager over the last two seasons.
“He has had a long association with Petersfield Town FC, both as a player and a member of the coaching staff, and I hope this will not be the end of that long and proud association with the club and that we will still see him regularly at Love Lane.”
Matt will continue as first team manager at Petersfield until the end of the season at the end of April.
Talking about the search for his replacement, Mr Moir added: “As for the next manager, we are looking for someone who can take us forward – we want to be competitive in this division and also be a contender for promotion.
“Our aim is to get promoted to the Wessex Premier Division as soon as we can and retain our position in this division and slowly build the club up so it continues to grow in status.
“We also enter the FA Cup and FA Vase each season and we are looking to have stronger performances in these and the other cup competitions we enter.
“We also have close links with the town’s junior club and the development of young players from the youth team through to the reserves and first team level is also important to us.
“The candidate who gets the job will need to be someone who can build a successful first team with the aim of getting us promoted, while also helping to develop the young talent coming through the club’s ranks so that they have the opportunity of breaking into the reserves and first team in the future.”
Anyone who wants to apply for the job of first team manager should send a covering letter and CV to Petersfield Town chairman Graeme Moir via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or via post to: 56 Dore Avenue, Portchester, Hants, PO16 8BX.
The closing date for applications is April 10, 2012.
