Phoenix RFC celebrate new facilities
Phoenix RFC will celebrate the club's new facilities with a grand opening at the Taplow club on Saturday October 4th 2008.
The Buckinghamshire club have built an extension to their club house which will house two additional changing rooms, showers, toilets, officials changing room, a new kitchen and areas for bar and kit storage. The club have also resurfaced their car park.
Phoenix RFC has been able to make these important upgrades to their club partly thanks to a Rugby Football Foundation Loan and Grant of 46,000 pound and a Sport England award, via the National Sports Foundation, of 50,108 pound. They have also sourced and raised a further 94,000 pound.
With three male teams with 80 players, and 90 children playing rugby at the club, the changes will come as a welcome boost to the growing Phoenix RFC. The club also plan to continue the good work they do with local Slough based schools and build on the four schools festivals Phoenix run every year for emerging schools.
