New Players Welcome
Hi everyone! My name is Chris and I am a member of our local rugby club and I am also now involved with the mini section catering for youngsters who want to have some fun, run round and eventually play firstly tag rugby then, in the future, rugby itself.
I have a level one RFU coaching certificate as well as CRB checks to allow me to coach children. I have played local rugby for 25 years at various levels within the area. Now I feel it is time to put something back into rugby, the game I have enjoyed for so many years.
We have a fun hour and a half session at our Institute Road ground starting at 10.00 a.m. every Sunday. This is open to both boys and girls, aged 4 to 12. I would suggest that on the day you judge best what to wear as we will be outside on the pitch so boots or trainers and shorts will be fine. A warm top / tracksuit etc. would be great if the weather is colder. The clubhouse will be open for spectators to stay indoors if you so wish.
Please just come down on any Sunday, (no previous rugby experience necessary!), or please contact me in advance if there is anything I can do to help. All we ask for is a £1.00 donation per child for our costs. We hope that the children enjoy the experience and continue in the coming weeks and seasons.
My e-mail is; l.c.vaughan@btinternet.com or text 07530 772 116
A few details about Phoenix RFC:
Phoenix RFC was founded in 1963, and next year we celebrate our 50th anniversary, our Golden Jubilee. Recent clubhouse improvements and expansion mean that we are able to offer facilities which are warm and comfortable for players, supporters and families alike. Phoenix continues to be a successful club at senior level and also in running a successful Youth Section – Minis and Junior. We always have a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for new players; of any age or standard as well as supporters, helpers or sponsors.
We want to make you part of your local club
