Match Report- 22nd August 2015

The start of preseason was slightly tough but something we can certainly work on. For the coaches it gave us the opportunity to evaluate performances from all players and see strengths and weaknesses we can work on as a collective.

It is always difficult to have a well Structured team that hasn't played much rugby together before.

Chesham background- a well coached side (as they should be with two England women world cup winners) was able to adapt their game play very quickly and see small weaknesses in ours, that allowed them to channel through using there back line.

Numbers were extremely good with 42 players attending which was awesome and saw some new players, really shine through,Callum Morgan with his outstanding tackling skills and Steven Hyland with his ball carries and tackling. James Quick who carried well at every opportunity and the list could go on.

Some of the areas we do need to work on is using the skills we have
learnt in training and bringing them to the pitch. Unfortunately we did not see enough of this. Also our communication is one of the key aspects on the field in any game situation and at all times keeping control and having trust in your fellow team mates to be there on your back to provide support.

We all at the end of the game were in good spirits and should be. Yeah, we didn't win but some of the player's haven't played with each other before, some have come back and haven't played with each other for years and everything is not going to fall into place after one game.

Over the course of the next weeks we will continually review
performances and guide and support every player on and off
the field.

Well played everyone keep up the good work see you Tuesday for
training.
