Pilks under 11's performance was fantastic at the weekend. The game started with both teams attacking well, and causing each other problems. It was Pilks who had the early break through, with a flowing move being finished off by Jack Donnelly
in the Corner to put the Recs 6 - 0. Pilks had to work hard to maintain their lead, with some excellent one on one defence by shaun Pickering kept Waterhead at bay. Pilks continued to build pressure on waterhead and a team move was superbly finished of by Luke Tomkinson who rounded the Waterhead Defence and scored underneath the posts.
More Superb defence enabled the recs to build more pressure. It was another strong and powerful run by Jack Donnelly
who split the defence into two to score underneath the posts to make the score 18 - 0 at half time. The second half got underway and Waterhead continued to apply the pressure and almost crossed the whitewash. After the game was going from end to end in attack it was Luke Tomkinson who rounded the waterhead defence to score a full length try, and Kai Brookes added the extras to make it 24 - 0. Another fantastic team try was added when the ball moved from one side of the pitch to another and tomkinson made the intial break to be well supported by Conor Marsh
to touch down under the posts. The final try of the game came from a flowing attacking move which saw Nathan Ashcroft make a break from the half way line, only to be tackled 5 metres short of the line, but on the next tackle cleverness by halfback Owain Abel
jinked and side stepped his way past the remianing Waterhead defenders to score the final try of the game. Excellent game by both teams, Credit to Waterhead and their coaches
