The cricket season starts in earnest this weekend. The Club’s first match in Division 2 of the KCVL is this coming Saturday at home against Cudham Wyse so let’s hope for a big win. Last season was a disappointment with the Club being unable to field a second XI and the first XI struggling but let’s try to bounce back in 2018 with a strong showing. Division 2 will be a very good standard and competitive so we will need to put out our strongest team every week.

So, please support your club and make yourself available to play as much as possible!!!!

We have a few new players, which is great news, and also have a new Captain and Vice-Captain in Mark Francis and Chris Goodwin. Please support them as much as possible by being available to play.

Many of you will be aware that we have a couple of measures in place to help with the financial stability of the club, including a wedding at the ground on the 12th May. We also have an arrangement with Bidborough which can provide opportunities for cricketers not playing for the PCC League team or those working up to the standard of the higher divisions of the league. The Sunday XI has a good fixture card and the Junior section is looking strong with good attendance at winter nets and the intention to field two Under 11 teams this summer. So there are plenty of positives.

However, there are still significant expenses to be covered, such as replacing the netting for the practice net cage.
