Poringland Wanderers Football Club started as a Sunday side in 1962, and when the separate Saturday side moved on in 1985 to eventually become Norwich United, the club then formed a Saturday side in 1985/86 in the Business Houses League. A year later in 1986/87 they joined the Anglian Combination and finished Runners Up in Division Four in their first season. The club then climbed through the leagues and won the County Junior KO Cup final at Carrow Road in 1990/91. They went onto win the League Junior KO Cup the following year and reached Senior football in 1993/94, when winning the Division Two title. After six seasons they were relegated back to Junior football in 2000/01. In 2005/06 the club won the League Junior KO Cup for a second time before returning to Senior football in 2008/09.
