Child Protection
General Statement in respect of Child Abuse
All Managers and those involved in the game of football and being responsible for a child or young person under the age of 18 years is responsible to ensure that every participant should be able to take part in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from abuse.
The Football Association and the Club recognises its responsibility to safety and welfare of children and young people and to protect them from physical, sexual and emotional harm and from neglect or bullying.
All Managers, Officials, helpers, medical staff whether paid or voluntary, are required by the Club to undertake a training course in Child Protection and to be investigated to ensure that they do not have any criminal convictions or cautions for offences relating to violence, sexual offences or offences relating to the abuse of children in any form.
However, there is in addition to the specific responsibility placed upon those directly involved in the training of youngsters, a general responsibility upon us all to safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
If you have any concerns whatsoever regarding the safety and welfare of children or young persons, you should immediately consult the nominated child protection liaison officer in the club who has received training in the appropriate action to be taken or speak to any Manager or Club Official who will be able to help you.
REMEMBER: NON-ACTION IS NOT AN OPTION IN CHILD PROTECTION.
