PORTISHEAD TOWN V WINSCOMBE 13TH OCT 2011

by Alan Payne

Portishead left wondering what they need to do to get a win.

Portishead started well. They dominated the first 20 minutes of the game with some good passing moves, only to fall behind with a very well taken goal following a defensive slip-up. Portishead continued to press hard for an equaliser. A missed opportunity came from a corner that flashed across the 6 yard box which nobody was able to convert. Winscombe then broke away to score their second goal. Half time saw a change to the team formation from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 as Portishead adopted a more attacking line-up. In the 55th minute Portishead thought they had pulled a goal back through Josh KRUPA only to see it disallowed for offside. Portishead took control and were rewarded with a goal from George SHANKS-BOON in the 80th minute. The team continued to press forward but were unable to get the equaliser they deserved. Portishead will be hoping for an upturn in fortune against Brislington next week.
