Portishead claimed their first 3 points in six games ss they comfortably beat Brislington at Bristol Rd
The home team started strongly dominating the midfield, creating a series of chances, notably a shot from Ryan Crouch, which was narrowly wide, and a one on one opportunity for Nic Golledge which just went over the bar. The home team continued to press forward, forcing half a dozen corners in quick succession, unfortunately none of which led to a goal.Brislington started to come more into the game just before half time, but all their attacking efforts were thwarted by a commanding goalkeeping performance from Damien Freeman. He was well supported by a resilient back four, marshalled by the excellent George Shanks Boon

Portishead continued where they left off in the first half, and after 60 minutes their efforts were rewarded when a cross from James Playford evaded the Brislington keeper and found the top corner of the net. With Posset in the assendance George Shanks Boon rose on the far post to head in a corner after 80 minutes which sealed the points for the home team. This win lifted Portishead off the bottom of the league for the first time since October, and with renewed confidence and 4 games remaining they still have the opportunity of a mid table finish.
