Portishead Youngsters Bounce Back To Maintain Impressive Start To The Season!

Portishead's under 18's bounced back to winning form against Brislington Under 18's last night after losing their way in the previous away game at Welton Rovers.
Shorn of several players due to holidays Portishead took to the field without a recognised goalkeeper, with Olly O Hare starting off between the sticks!
Liam Oswin, recruited from Longwell Green during last season along with Toby Clifton combined for the first goal with Liam confidently finishing his first chance of the game in the 8th minute.
Another Longwell Green recruit made it 2-0 when Stuart Harmer crashed in an unstoppable shot high into the roof of the net on 12 minutes.
Olly O Hare then produced a stunning save from a Brislington effort to preserve his clean sheet.
To complete a clean sweep of Longwell Green scorers Toby Watson made it 3-0 with a fantastic free kick from 25 yards leaving the keeper no chance on 15 minutes.
Liam Oswin then scored his second of the game with a header to make it 4-0 at half time.
The second half started with Toby Clifton in goal and he was beaten by a 20 yard lob, although probably fair to say his positioning was somewhat questionable!
The game was quite disjointed in the second half although did improve slightly when Toby Clifton reverted to his usual midfield role this time with Dan Taylor donning the gloves!
Brislington did manage a consolation goal to leave the final scoreline 4-2 to the hosts. The win moves the yougsters back up the table to third place and consolidates what has been a very impressive start to the season.
