Another sub-zero temperature day forced all the official league games off so another inter-club game was hastily arranged at Waterhall. When Cartwright got into his car in the morning it was -10 degrees. Luckily that had dropped to a tropical -5 when he arrived in Brighton.
The game itself was very evenly matched and (apparently) much more competitive than last weeks show.
The blues managed again by Steve Bryson ran out winners by a 2-0 margin. The game itself was on knife-edge throughout with chances at both ends. The 'keepers Cartwright and Johnston were in particular good form and fortunately Stampy wasn't - as he missed a host of good chances.
However Sean "Petal" Trend opened the scoring in the 65 minute after a beautifully disguised cross by Yassine. Chances at both ends again materialised but it wasn't until the last kick of the game that Yassine stole in front of Johnston then rolled the ball into an empty net to secure the win.
Overall an excellent workout to keep us all ticking over.
Thanks to Cliff for refereeing.

Did the evening Social go ahead?? Where did you go?
I think to be fair, you earn your man of the match on the pitch and not the contents of your wallet!
I was tempted to give it to Rob Johnston but he failed to show up at the social becuase he didn't have a "passport or driving license" with him.
Yeah, I think it ended up in the Big O although I was tucked up in bed by that point.
