Organised in conjunction with the Staffs FA County Coach Developer and their Football Development Officer, the event was structured to provide training to Foundation phase coaches who operate at the under 11 stage.

The programme included detailed classroom instruction on Port Vale Academy training methods, training values, philosophy and individual player development. This was followed by observation of a Port Vale Academy foundation phase evening session on the Dimensions 3G pitches and a concluding Q and A workshop.

“The objective of events like this is to encourage local grassroots coaches to follow recognised FA coaching practices” said Warren Campbell, Head of PVFC Academy Coaching.

“This is the first CPD event of this kind that we have organised. It was well attended, we had lots of positive feedback from the participants and as a result we will be looking to arrange similar sessions in the near future.”
