Comfortable win in the end for promotion chasing Potters Bar

The Blues put in a decent performance, but it was in the final third this game was won by Potters Bar and lost by Bury Town. Potters Bar hit the ground running and were soon on the score sheet. On 7 minutes a penalty shout from the home side was not required as Ben Ward-Cochrane picked up the loose ball and fired home past Bury keeper Luis Tibbles. Bury went close on 11 minutes after some good build up play from Ollie Hughes and Cemal Ramadan ending in Ramadan hitting his shot off the bar. On 17 minutes Ramadan found himself clean through and should have pulled Bury level but pulled hit shot wide. Ward-Cochrane looked dangerous all game and on 25 minutes he went on a run down the wing and in to the box but could only shoot wide. Bury struggled to contain a very well organised Potter Bar side. On 30 minutes Ward-Cochrane was involved again, this time setting up Sandro Costa Dias Fernandes with a beautiful cross in to the box and the Potters Bar hitman could not miss as he doubled the lead.

After the break Bury Town came out on a mission. On 50 minutes Ryan Jolland box forward in to the box and a good pass found Kyran Clements but his scuffed shot was easy save for Berkley Laurencin. A long shot from Ramadan on 52 minutes went close but was a foot to high of the bar. On 55 minutes Clements had another chance for Bury but this time hit the far post. 2 minutes later a long ball over the top fell in the path of Ramadan in the box but a good save from Laurencin kept the shot out. On 74 minutes Ollie Hughes show great skill out on the wing and put a good cross in to Ramadan in the box but his soft header was never going to get past Laurencin. On 76 minutes Potters Bar killed the game off and grabbed a third goal. An initial shot from Lomas was palmed in to the path of Eoin Casey who slotted home for Potters Bar. A well hit free kick from Andrew Lomas on 81 minutes flew an inch past the far post for Potters Bar who took the win at the final whistle and bolster their playoff hopes.
