U12 Scholars
Rapid Aid 6 PBT 2
The boys did themselves proud against an excellent football playing team which had quite a few special players, however, we have many of our own!. Even though it was 6-2 to Rap Aid, it was actually a close competitive game for a team who should be playing in the Emerald, however, it shows that the Scholars should be playing up a level too.
It was not mentioned to the Scholars that Rap Aid had not lost all season and if stats are right, Rap Aid had only let in 2 in previously, 1 vs us in the last time we played and we doubled the tally today! T‎he boys went toe to toe with them from 1st minute to last, and was a pleasure to be part of such a game. We had gone 1 nil up from some great defence to midfield play which released Jack, and on to Kyle who hit the post and Ellis was again right place right time. Jack was then unlucky not to make it 2 nil.
Slowly but surely Rap Aid got back into the game with their first, a long punt from defence for their super fast striker to score, and then they added two more before the break to go 3-1 up. It could have more if it wasn't from some great defending and a couple of world class saves from Brad.
It must be said that considering Rap Aid had beaten Letchworth 12 nil the week before, it showed how well that captain Nathan had marshalled his defence so well‎ and supported from the ever impressive Lambo, the no-nonsense tackler Moseley(Alex), the composed Charlie and never say die Benan who put in endless tackles!
In front them taking a battering against a top midfield was‎ the work rate, strength and effort from Luis and the man of the match Josh who worked his socks off covering every blade of grass. The attackive intent from both Jack and Kyle caused their defenders endless problems, and was a great goal from a super strike from Kyle in the second half that had all purring. It also shouldn't be forgotten of the amount of running and great technical play from Oscar and Ellis, who were both brilliant putting themselves all over the place and playing some smart football.
Thanks again to all parents encouragement and support, we certainly have the best set of parents of any team - thank you.
