U12 PBT Scholars vs East Herts

Excellent performance today! See below match report and will send match details for SATURDAY 10am game during this week‎.

Scholars 7 vs East Herts Blues 0

It was a very cold "Spring!" morning, but the boys put on a hot display and put a "Spring" in everyone's steps.
There was initial confusion in the kids faces when they were told of the change of formation to 3-2-2-1, however, it seemed to be the right way for today's game. This was coupled with all being 9 out of 10, apart from our 10! - lynch pin a‎t the back and man of the match, the Awesome Abbott (Freddie). We are still wondering why he'd rather play rugby than football, but great to know he's talented at both!
It was also pleasing to have a clean sheet from Sir Brad who was playing in his number 13 shirt - unlucky for some but not Brad. ‎He played like a sweeper and was always an option for his defence, and when called upon was there to scupper any attack. His reliable left and right back were the ever available and solid Charlie / Lambo - nothing was getting past them today! Lambo even managed to get up field to score his first goal of the season, running on from a wonderful left footed chip from Luis.
‎Luis and Alex were outstanding in midfield, snuffing out anything coming their way, and always ticking the game over with smart passing. Luis was unlucky to hit the post from a finessed free kick, but nothing was stopping Alex power shot which he slammed into the top of the net and lifted it upwards - what a strike!
Just leaves us with our attacking 4 lead by Nathan's two accurate strikes (Terry, 10000 V Bucks!) , and he run himself into the ground supporting all around him and making a menace of himself to their defence. Kyle and Ellis added a goal a piece, worked their socks off and were just unplayable. Archie again was brilliant in all he did, tormententing their defenders and just causing mayhem, and the icing on the cake was possibly the goal of the season, when he rode 3 different players tackles, drove into the box and clever finish - their were shouts, "are you Messi in disguise".
Well done Scholars with our last league and 9-a-side game, you have continued to improve and develop - so thanks to you all, the parents and wonderful coaches we have. We'll get even better next season and looking forward to 11-a-side!

Cheers.Scholars 7 vs East Herts Blues 0
