'Scholars' beat Wingate & Finchley
Dernell hat trick makes it a Wynter wonderland for the Scholars
Three first half goal from Dernell Wynter and a fifth in three games for Brad Sach gave the Scholars a comfortable win for the newly appointed management team of Lee O'Leary and Scott Cousins.
An eighth minute Keagan Cole penalty was well saved by Wingate 'keeper Shane Gore but Wynter reacted the quickest to put the home side in front from the rebound.
Just seven minutes later it was Wynter again as he drove into the box to make it two for him and the home side.
Wingate looked to get back into the game but their good work was undone as Brad Sach broke into the penalty area only to be clipped by Wingate skipper Sean Cronin. Wynter this time stepped up to take the spot kick himself and made no mistake to complete his first half hat trick.
The second half proved a slightly more mundane affair as Wingate tied to gain a foothold but Bar held out comfortably. The best of the chances , though, fell to the home side as Sach once again got away from the Wingate defence to beat the advancing Shane Gore only to see his shot hit the upright. But the striker made amends with just two minutes remaining, latching on to a Ryan Forde free kick for his fifth goal in three games and making it 4-0 to the Scholars.
