Pavilion
Poulton Cricket Club proudly opened its new pavilion on 5th July 2008.
Four years of planning and a further three years of construction have resulted in one of the most modern facilities in the county.
In both 2010 and 2011, the club received top marks of 5 out of 5 from EVERY away team visiting the ground during the season, the only club in the Gloucestershire County League to do so.
The Pitch
Poulton is very fortunate to have a dedicated ground committee who are responsible for the preparation of the wicket and outfield.
The current Poulton ground staff team is made up of Wayne Tinson, who recently joined the Institute of Groundsmanship, Mark Wright, Andy James and Pat and Neil Shaw.
They are ably supported by Jim and John Nunn who look after the outfield and Joe Tinson.
As a unit they have been responsible for producing one of the best grounds in the county league for several years. In 2010, the wicket averaged 4.3 out of 5 from visiting captains whilst the outfield averaged 4.4 out of 5. In 2011, the wicket averaged 4.1 out of 5 from visiting captains whilst the outfield averaged 4.6 out of 5.
As a result of their sustained hard work, the Gloucestershire County Cricket Board have held several representative games at the ground including Women's, Over 50's and Junior matches.
Teas
In 2011, Poulton CC received an average mark of 4.6 out of 5 for their teas, a credit to all those to have contributed to laying on a good spread over the season.
