On Paper, The SQUAD looked good. Having a mix of Youth, Inexperience, Old Arses, & Lads with Experience. A typical 3rd team Squad. Massive thanks goes to Lee Robert Rafferty & Todd Bell for Stepping in to help out, Really appreciated and helped Steady the Pack against a Big Well drilled Port Pack.
1st Half Started off in the worst way possible as our Skipper and ''Go to Guy'' Roy Triggs was injured within the first 5-6 minutes and couldn't carry on, The game was a 50/50 battle and the Maroon Troopers certainly had their chances to Go over the white Line, a little bit more confidence mixed with a better understanding of Positional play and the Scores will Come. Ellesmere Port scored 3 Trys converting 2 of them with Prenton Scoring a Well Worked Compo off the Line, Anthony Morgo Morgan Had 2 runners in Garry Jones And Lee Robert Rafferty Decided to go with the Shorter pass (Yes Decided, it wasn't because he cant pass more than 10 meters lol) Garry Jones managed to break the line and go over, Kick Made (Possibly) by Eric Cody only for the Referee to ask to retake as he didn't see it, This time Kick was kicked by Garry Jones, Prenton Pack with Andy Williams Jason Louis Torrance Nathan Peters Sean Astbury all putting Pressure on a bigger Port pack was telling and Prenton finished the half the stronger, Special Mention to Bob Lee on a twinkle toes run that really did deserve some points (Well in buddy, 2-3 Games in and you will have the Gas to go over) Massive plus for the day was seeing Barry James put on a 3rd team top for the 1st time this season, Great to see u back out there (Even though you left me with Concussion lol) Last play of the half seen the Prenton Pack gain a penalty Kicked by Garry Jones

2nd Half saw the lads dig in and never gave up, ''ALL'' showed heart and should take something forward to the rest of the season, So many injuries showed that the lads put everything out there, Rab A Hanna some quality play today at 13 mate, think moving in from the wing has been a great decision between You & Andrew Gale, Hope the back is ok buddy.. Craig Splaig James Outstanding running in attack and your defence really has improved (Hope the Hamstring isn't as bad as 1st thought Cuz) Si Gone are you sure its only your 2nd ever game of Rugby?? Well done pal, Also in a 1st for me seen the Referee have to go off with an injury (Speedy recovery) And although thrown in at the deep end 1 of the Port LADS obliged and stepped in. (Big Hand)
