Prestatyn Academy enjoyed a great weekend in Bolton and had some sucess as well

Prestatyn Academy players spent the weekend in Bolton for some their first overnight trip out. We arrived in Bolton very early and went straight across to the reebok for a tour. The tour itself was a bit of a let down as we only seen the tunnell, pitch and away dressing room. The tour should have been better and in previous years it was, but as they had a massive game on there they had made some areas restricted. Following on from the tour the lads were involved in a training session with the Bolton Academy staff. You would have to ask the players what they thought of this but from what I seen it was enjoyed by most. Then 1 hours rest before the Tournament started. All of the teams taht were there 10s 13s, 14s and 15s started well with the Under 15s starting off with a brilliant 6-1 win scoring goals for fun. After 4 games in each age group the only team to get beat were the under 15s in a 2-1 loss. At the end of the day the under 10s had won 3 drew 3 and lost 3 and the 13s and 14s were unbeaten whilst the 15s had just lost 1. Then at 4-30 it was back to the hotel to get ready to go out to the cup final. We had been invited across to the Reebok to watch it in comfort. Following on from that it was off for something to eat and then back to the Hotel. After some telling offs for the 13s, 14s and 15s it was back to the room and Bed. Sunday morning seen us up early and packed and out. First game at 9. So off we went for the games. The Under 15s were to finish their group games first. And they had made it to the final with a game to spare. The final was between the best 2 teams in it and they had drawn 1-1 in both their games so this was going to be close. And close it was with a 1-0 win for Prestatyn. Aled had finished top goal scorer with 10 followed by Rob Brown 6, Brett 5 and Josh 3. It was a well deserved win for the boys who had worked really hard for it. The under 14s wer next to finish but didnt qualify. The had been unbeaten on Saturday but couldnt find a shred of form on Sunday. The Under 13s played each other in the final as usual. The Under 10s probably had the hardest day of all. They didnt qualify either but were then kept hanging around for 2 hours before they were let go back to the hotel. It was a great trip and the Academy came away enhancing their reputation and winning in 2 age groups. For me though the weekend belonged to the Under 15s. Comming on from getting hammered in early season by everyone to now unbaten in 3 ann winning the Bolton International they deserve great praise
