History

Risborough Rugby Football Club was founded in 2008 after a drunken conversation in the Whiteleaf Cross PH, lead to an inevitable game of street rugby! Once sober, the instigators of this heroic (and somewhat silly) kick about, decided to look into the possibility of setting up a rugby club.

We began our first season as Risborough RFC in 2008-09, with a small selection of friendly matches, where we found our feet as a club. With our home matches being played at the local school and our after match antics being undertaken at several different pubs, we had a good footing in the rugby scene, making a lot of friends along the way. In the following season, we entered the Berks, Bucks and Oxon league 2 North and after a shaky start, finished strong and won the title.

Now at the end of 2010-11 season, we're currently 2nd in the league (Berks, Bucks & Oxon North 1) and have fought our way through a number of Cup rounds to the South West Divisional Final.

No one can disagree that we've had a good run so far....the future is looking good for Risborough RFC; join us if you can!
