As most of you will know the club formed in July 2008 and was initially made up of a group of players with a range of past experience, from none at all through to played for ten years or more. Andy joined at the start and set about moulding the squad into an effective team. He attended all the training sessions, set the drills and worked extremely hard on developing cohesion in the team. He did this predominantly on his own and attended twice a week in all weathers to deliver his coaching techniques.
Andy has been pivotal in the success of the club and his contribution in helping us to two promotions and two cup wins was exceptional and clearly demonstrated his commitment to the club. Additionally Andy willingly took on the added role of interfacing with Top School and coaching their years 7 and 8, which will most definitely reap long term rewards for the club. For some time Andy has suffered with severe back pain issues and expressed a desire to step down at an appropriate point from the Head Coach role, but only when a new structure could be assured and he was able to leave everything in safe hands.
Well that time has now arrived and regrettably Andy will be stepping down as our Head Coach. We must put on record our unreserved thanks for his 3 year plus contribution and mark his changing role in a suitable manner. It is with great pleasure we are able to confirm Andy will act as our School Liaison Officer continuing his coaching role and as a mark of our respect we are appointing him as our first Honorary Vice President. Andy will also work with Terry on our successful Sport England bid to ensure we deliver the right items for our club to use going forward.
We trust you will all join in with us in praising his achievements and wishing Andy every success in his ongoing club roles.
Andrew Emmett Terry Dillon
