As mentioned a few months ago , ex priory player and coach Sophie Wilkinson has been selected to go to Uganda on a balls for poverty tour in April.
Although this is a charitable tour it however doesn’t come free as sponsorship for this type of project is no longer financially supported and additionally there is a requirement for Sophie to raise at least £250 as a separate sponsorship deal as well as covering some of the other indirect travelling and equipment cost , so all in all not a cheap trip for Sophie
Similar to what we did for Josh Stevenson a few years ago I am organising a race night in the upstairs function room at the Queens Head in Kimberley on Saturday 10th March with doors opening at 7.00 and the first race at 8pm and will finish late.
So I can control numbers etc I am looking to charging £2 a head to cover entrance, prizes and contribute to Sophie sponsorship. The format will be a minimum bet of £1 (maybe 50p) per house per race and hopefully we will do about 6/7 races depending how the night goes for time. Just like previous race nights if will be a good local night out and you could end up winning a few quid or if you are unlucky loosing a few quid however to a good cause.
Please also note that Josh Stevenson who is now working for various football community organisation including NCFC , NFFC etc is also going as one of the senior leaders so a good local presence and some good PR for Priory. .
I would therefore appreciate if you could put this out to the members TONIGHT to find out who would be interested in coming to the race night. Please ask the team manager to text me (07968544047) or email (Stephen.newbold@ntlworld.com) to reserve their tickets. I will send a text to the managers that I still have numbers for to remind them
