Project Clapham Football Club

Hopefully you all know by now that last weekend was a bit of a mixed bag, with Saturday a disappointment in the end and Sunday an absolutely cracking performance. This weekend is of equal importance with a top half clash against AFC Molesey tomorrow and a Cup Quarter final against Sandmere on Sunday.

Saturdays we take one game at a time now, everyone as a cup final, everyone a must win. This starts tomorrow against Molesey, who we know will be a big test. Last time out they were 2-0 up against us and we didn’t get our winner until about the 88th so we were pushed all the way; they were physical, with a lot of fight and with two dangerous strikers who could play and who challenged for every ball. We came out on top eventually as we started playing our own game, knocking the ball around and getting them chasing it and tiring themselves out and eventually chances started to come. The game's a 2pm kick off at West Molesey Rec.

Sunday is a quarter final so again an absolute must win. Sandmere have probably been our closest consistent competitors on Sundays, with all our three games only won by us by the odd goal; as such it’ll be a tough game that we’ll have to be at our best to win. That said we approach the game and play with the same intensity that we did last week and we will have too much for them. An absolutely massive game and another chance to edge closer to some more silverware for the club; the game will be decided tomorrow. As it’s the cup the game is kicking off at 1pm on Clapham Common.

Both days we need to make sure we have that urgency and desire that has won us so much over the past couple of years, it really is business time for the club now; we have to raise our game for it.
