Priestley Shield - An Amazing & Bizarre Day

10 months ago By andy quirke

Saints 2nd XI scored an amazing 545 -4 and won by 544 as Brighouse went home after 1 ball. Jack Allman & Harry Cullingford both scored double hundreds

Pudsey St Lawrence set a stunning new Priestley Shield record score of 545-4 but their joy was tempered when opponents Brighouse declared after just one ball of their reply and forfeited the match.

The All Rounder Cricket Bradford League Management Committee will now study the report of match umpires Brian Atkinson and Dave Parker.

Events at Tofts Road are inevitably the main talking part as three more record were broken as well as the highest team total.

Wicketkeeper Jack Allman's sizzling 258 is believed to be the highest score in any Bradford League cup or league match.

With Harry Cullingford making a splendid unbeaten 206, 11 sixes and 22 fours, it is the first occasion that two batsmen have made double centuries in the same match.

And the third wicket stand between Allman, pictured, and Cullingford of 459 is easily the highest in the competition's history as well as being the biggest in any Bradford League competition.
