The game started with both sides attacking at every given opportunity. Jamie Butler made a good run into the box for Quedgeley and his shot was spilled by the keeper on the line but was deemed not to have crossed it. 5Five minutes later a mix up in the Quedgeley defence led to the first goal scored by Frampton. The ball came in from the right and missed everyone before the Frampton striker spectacularly scored a bicycle kick past Oliver Greensweig in the Quedgeley goal.

Quedgeley were struggling to get used to the width of the pitch and were panicking at the back whenever they got the ball but when they advanced over the halfway line they looked confident on the ball but just lacked the killer touch in front of goal. It was 2-0 five minutes before half time; a free kick was given away in a dangerous position a soft decision but it was given. The wall stood firm but the ball broke loose and beat a defiant Oliver Greensweig in the Quedgeley goal who got his hands to the ball but couldn’t prevent it going in. The half time whistle came at the right time for Quedgeley and some harsh words were said but encouraging words all the same which was based on communication and not panicking when the ball is at your feet.

For the first time this season it seemed within ten minutes the Quedgeley players had taken on board what was said and were piling plenty of pressure on the Frampton goal. A double substitution was made and my decision to bring off my two front players was a huge gamble. I took Sam Layton and Kieran Callard off and replaced them with Andrew Wells (normally Central midfield or Right back) and Craig Greenwood (normally Left back) to inject more energy in the game. Within a matter of minutes the first goal for Quedgeley arrived a great cross from Jamie Butler who had been running up and down the right wing all game missed everyone apart from Andrew Wells who got a faint touch and it found its way to Jordan Hutchinson who had come up from the back and he placed the ball in to the back of the net. Quedgeley kept pressing and waves of attacking moves were met with some cracking long range efforts from Lennon Lewis who was unlucky not to get a goal. (At full time got praise from the referee).

A final substitution was made bringing off Alex Smith (left midfield) and bringing on Tim Butler (normally centre back) to play on the left. Tim Butler showed good knowledge of the game and worked well with Chris Jones and Jordan Butler when attacking up the left in which bought about the equaliser in the last minute of the game. Jordan played the ball inside to Chris who played a neat one-two with Tim who took the ball past two players before a great overlapping run from Jordan and Jordan was fouled on the right hand side of the area on an acute angle, Lennon Lewis and Chris Jones are the people who would take free kicks and Lennon walked towards the ball, I shouted NO, Chris take it, I know he has scored goals like this and with my knowledge from the first half I knew the keeper would struggle with the angle too. Chris stepped up struck the ball sweetly over the keeper and into the net such a fantastic goal and second half performance from the whole team.
The versatility of the team really impressed me and hopefully we can take lessons learnt in this game into our county cup game against Yate on Sunday 28th November.

After the game the parents vote for man of the match and for his work rate through the game and his superb free kick at the end it went to Chris Jones.

Well done guys a fantastic result.
