QWFC Take the Spoils at Cirencester
QWFC Ladies entered two teams into the Gloucestershire County Women's League annual indoor tournament today.
Entered as Reds and Whites both teams got off to an awful start by losing each of their first games respectively. But were both strong enough to either draw or win their remaining group games to go through to the Quarter finals of the plate competition.
We were lucky enough to be kept apart in the draw as both teams continued through the knockout stages the Whites won all their games in normal time. The reds took their semi final game all the way to penalties and were victorious 5 goals to 4 thus setting up a Quedgeley-Quedgeley final.
This was a close fought game with both teams putting their all into the game. The whites went 2 nil up before the reds clawed 2 goals back only for the whites to score their winning goal 1 minute before end of time, both teams took home a medal and the victorious whites added the plate as well.
Two years on the trot for Quedgeley.
