Queensbury 6 - 12 Hunslet Old Boys
Queeny end home campaign with defeat
Queensbury lost their final home game of the season after going down to a strong Hunslet side. Hunslet were never behind and their thuggish tactics went un-punished by the ref kept Queeny on the back foot.
Despite the result it was a great performance from Queeny who gave first appearances to Karl Rouse, Tom Hainsworth and Rob Nagy.
Playing down the hill in the first half Queeny went behind when a dubious pass went to the Hunslet winger who scored controversially scored in the corner.
Queeny hit back though after strong drives by Senior nd Kelley and magic footwork from Lewis Symonds got Queeny near the line. A short ball from Callum Murgatroyd sent the impressive Joe Swain crashing over under the sticks, Swann converting.
Hunslet though scored again just before halftime.
Queeny came out the 2nd half fired up but lost the impressive Hainsworth when he was punched in a 1-on-1 tackle (which the ref again missed). However this didn't deter Queeny who pushed for the leveling score but to no avail.
Hunslet then gave the sucker puch when they picked up and dived over to seal the game.
Best on the day where Lewis Symonds and Joe Swain.
