A Quick Racal Decca Update from Sports Correspondent - Olanrewanju Larry Jonathan Alaka-Balogun

Robert Holmes, George Cracknell and Benjamin Taylor have been recalled to the Racal Decca squad for the pre season 10’s tournament at (and against) Sutton and Epsom....

Having previously decided to rest the trio (who you could bet your mortgage on that at least one of them will be sent to the sin bin at some stage during the season). Captain Alan Parry has decided to bring in the experience of Robert, and the speed of George in for the match day exhibition squad.

Catching up with Alan, he had this to say:
“All of our players have been cleared by the RFU to play in this final pre season test. This also gives us the chance to see how players cope out of their normal position. We all know how a typical Decca season can be. It is important that all players have experience in playing positions that may not be their first choice, but also aren't completely alien to them. This 10’s tournament on the 6th of September, gives us a chance to iron out the creases on an otherwise starch ridden shirt....”

Speaking also to the president Tony Downing via Skype, he had this today.
“Well I suppose you’re all wondering why I called you here to........”

Connection with President Tony abruptly ended... Reasons unknown.

Ahead of the new season, Decca can report the departure of flanker Tolu Ige (recently cleared of psychosis) up north, Matthew Glen down south, and Luka Medved. The latter completing his Erasmus year in London, and continuing his education. Tolu and Matt who have left (for now) due to work commitments, and finding new ways to cause a bigger banking crisis, pocket the bonuses and blame “quantative easing” policies of the government. Best wishes lads....

It isn’t all doom and gloom however. Racal Decca welcome new recruits Harri Lowther, and Martin Livings, who joined over the summer thanks to some shrewd business by Pete Garrett.

We still remain hopeful on Harry Tull’s mate, (the bus driver) if he will come back for a second crack at the whip

Special congratulations to Navy Man Matthew Davis, who recently completed his compulsory basic training for Her Majesties’ service... Matthew Davis has already informed the team he will be available for some home games, after being able to negotiate weekend leave from the South Coast.

The same unfortunately cannot be said for Matthew Taylor, who has been spotted jogging around in France, reportedly negotiating a new contract with a Parisian team. Matthew Taylor seemingly retired from the game earlier this year.

Finally please get behind Racal Decca and the committee members who are working tieressly behind the scenes, to put together the smallest rugby club world cup – A celebration of grass roots rugby, and something that a foundation to what Racal Decca represent.

You can show your support, by liking on Facebook, sharing on Twitter. Or just genuinely helping out Sean, Mike, Robert, Dev, Steve Steve, and the other committee members involved.

Thank you for your time, and hope to see you throughout the season!
