Radcliffe won the toss and elected to bat. Purcell and Bennett got the team off to a good start before Bennett (9) was out LBW again, stepping across the line! Purcell (28) played some aggressive strokes with Hopper (6) backing up well but finding runs hard to come by. With Purcell out to a very good ball from Oakley, the rest of the team suffered something of a collapse and could only muster another 24 runs between them, 81 all out after 17 overs, with Extras (27) almost the highest score!

Radcliffe once again looked to rely on their bowlers and with a double wicket maiden from Hopkinson, who finished on 3 for 3, and two quick wickets from Hopper, who finished on 2 for 2, Thrumpton soon slumped to 22 for 5 in the 8th over. Then a fightback began, with Towers leading the charge and striking the ball well for his 29 before being bowled by Daly in the 13th over. Radcliffe's bowling continued to be accurate and consistent but only 1 wicket fell during the next 7 overs. Thrumpton looked as though they might squeeze home but eventually finished 10 behind on 71 for 7. A close ending!
