Radford win hard fought encounter

It was the home side who were creating the better chances in the early stages of the game but Radford came close to conceding a penalty when Jevin Seaton looked to have manhandled a forward to the ground on 10 minutes. Radford came close to opening the scoring, Reece Fyfe charged down a goalkeepers Clearance only to see the ball rebound and go out a yard to the side of the home goal. Aylestone took the lead on 17 minutes when a cross from the left wing found Mason Brown free in the area and the striker booted the ball into the roof of the Radford goal.

Aylestone kept the lead for just five minutes, Jevin Seaton nipped in to equalise when the keeper failed to hold on to a shot. Joe Meakin saw a superb low drive from 25 yards tipped around the post by the agile Aylestone keeper. Carl Benson was first to a long ball punted into the Radford half, his pace took him away from Radfords defenders and he coolly chipped the keeper to put Aylestone 2-1 up at half time.

Five minutes into the second half and Joe Meakin hit a fierce drive that thundered off the crossbar. Radford were now playing some decent passing football. Jevin Seaton attempted a bicycle kick that was saved by the keeper and Errol Campbell was on the end of a long ball but in trying to chip the keeper put the ball wide of goal. Radford drew level on 70 minutes as Kenny Reeves made space in the area and blasted the ball past the keeper. Joe Meakin found Ruben Desrosiers with a well flighted corner and the centre halfs power header gave Radford the winning goal on 83 minutes.
