Great start, no end product

Connor Carter got Radford off to a great start when he converted a chance to open the scoring for Radford in the first minute. That was as good as it got for Radford. An ordinary Holwell side were causing problems for Radfords defence. The Holwell right winger was getting in too many crosses for comfort. Five minutes before half time a Holwell corner was played into the visitors area and Radford were lucky when the ball hit the crossbar before being cleared upfield. After a series of free kicks and corners Holwell found a deserved equaliser when centre forward Laithan Hammond headed in the equaliser unchallenged on 45 minutes.

Radford improved in the second half and Ady Hawes saw a header fly wide of the goal on 55 minutes. Much needed substitutions were made as Kenny Reeves and Errol Campbell were introduced. Joe Meakin saw a rising shot from just outside the area tipped over the crossbar then minutes later the Holwell keeper did well to save a Meakin shot with his feet. Ash Miles was superb in the heart of the Radford defence and Joe Evans was competent at right back. When called upon the returning Callum Dunning did a sound job between the sticks. In the closing minutes Radford came close to finding a winning goal but Ady Hawes header was directed straight at the keeper.
