The Spitfires followed the tournament with another triumph, this time in the form of a dinner and auction at the RAF Club, London.

"The Spitfires followed the tournament with another triumph, this time in the form of a dinner and auction at the RAF Club, London. Over 100 guests joined the Spitfires Committee, including Senior Officers, sponsors, charity representative, several professional players and other friends and associates. Air Cdre (retd) Charles Clarke, a Great Escape veteran, spoke as President of the RAF Ex-POW Association and Rugby Uncle's Khelo Project was described by its founder Zaffer Khan, the Afghanistan National Coach. The RAFBF were also represented and lent their fund-raising expertise throughout. The evening concluded with a Live Auction which, added to what was raised through a Silent Auction of signed shirts and other memorabilia, raised approximately £18,000. Putting this with £3000 raised by the Oxford tournament, the Spitfires extend their sincere thanks to all involved, for their invaluable support and generosity"
