After not managing to play the previous RI fixture in the first half of the season Rawcliffe Ravens knew that they would have to pull out all the stops to beat an RI side who had seen some good results recently.

RI had a strong team out but Ravens were quick off the mark working well as a unit from defence all the way through to attack to take the lead 9 - 5 in the first quarter.

With a few changes made in the RI line up Ravens knew that they would have to build on what they had done in the first quarter and ensure they came out just as strong to secure the lead. Charlotte and Hannah worked brilliantly in defence to stop the high balls getting to the experienced shooters and Becky and Mel worked the circle perfectly with Mel pulling out to open up the space for Becky to run in. With both shooters slotting each goal in Ravens extended their lead to 25 - 17.

Stepping back on court for the final half Ravens had really found their rhythm with some lovely interceptions and back up support by Jodie as WD and great feeds into the circle from the two Katies at C and WA. The game play went from strength to strength and Ravens ended up winning the game 59 - 31, with the whistle blowing just before they could get a nice round 60!

Player of the match was Katie Edson for her tireless work bringing the ball all the way down the court from defence to the shooting circle. Well done Katie.
