Abbey Colts Denied
Abbey Colts were denied the chance of winning their league when home side Chinnor failed to field a side last Sunday.
The rules gave Abbey a 20-0 win, but they needed 22 points to go top as Amersham & Chiltern had already finished their league programme.
Captain Jack Husbands expressed his team’s disappointment by saying he was confident they would have made the extra two points. But looking at the positives he pointed out they were the top Berkshire Colts side and overall, including friendlies and cup games they had played 22 matches and lost just three – two of those were in the National Colts Cup.
Whilst many of the lads will be leaving the area to go to University eight will stay in the Town and be available for the senior sides next year.
A grand re-union is being organised for June along with some informal matches against local sides to keep the team together.
