Referees - Referees 2010-11
On Sat 16 July the Berks Soc of RFU Refs held a Disco/BBCue at our Club and presented us with the Gwyn Francis Trophy for season 2010/11. They award this trophy annually to the Club that the refs feel welcomed and supported them best during the previous season and this was the second year running for us to receive it. This year they had decided they would not organise a formal end-of-season dinner (poorly supported in recent years) but instead organise a function at the Club due to receive the Award as a way of showing concrete recognition of the achievement (money over the bar!); and this time it was us.

I hope we can all play a part in working to ensure we retain the trophy next season by continuing to make referees welcome to our Club and ensuring that abuse of match officials never occurs at Reading RFC!
