Welcome to Reading Ladies RFC
Reading Ladies rugby team was formed in 1990 and we have always prided ourselves on working and playing hard on the pitch, and having a brilliant time off the pitch!
Over the last 20 years we've grown from strength to strength. We are happy to be Berkshire's most successful women's rugby team and currently play in the SW Championship Division, after winning promotion 2 years ago.
Reading players have played at county, regional and international level over the years and we have a very proud history - kept alive by the Reading Winos (our old girls - still passionate about rugby, but more about watching it)!
We have players of all ages (from 18 to over 40)and of varying experience and we welcome anyone who wants to pick up an odd shaped ball and run with it (oh, and knock a few people over along the way)!
We enjoy a very good social life with regular nights out (always starting and/or finishing at "The Walkabout" as our new "Social Sponsor". It's a great rugby/sporting bar location!!.....and let's not forget our annual tour - a highlight of everyone's calendar!
So if you've played rugby before (at Uni, for another club, at school, 7s or touch rugby) or even if you've never played before but know you are interested in learning; then please come down to training on any Wednesday from 7pm - you will always be made very welcome!
Cheesy, but true, quote from our captain:
"I play with a fantastic team who work hard during training, play with spirit on the pitch and enjoy spending time together off it! They're not just my team-mates anymore, they are a massive part of my life. Joining this team was one of the best decisions ever and I am truly honoured to pull on a Reading jersey every weekend."
