200 Club Newsletter Number 18 August 2018

Dear 200 Club Member,

Welcome to Newsletter number 18.
Not much this month but firstly the winners for July
£200 – Number 53 – Barry Jackson – a former organiser of the 200 Club and the man who scored the first try ever for the Rhinos in their first match, an overwhelming victory over Basingstoke 6 – 4.
£100 – Number 87 – Mick Lamb – a former Rhinos Captain
£50 – Number 34 – Derek Mellor – a former VP and loyal Club member.

The cheques are on their way to these winners and congratulations to them.
If I could remind you to go into Rumbles Bar next time you are at the club. There are lots of photos that have been put up as well as the Honours’ Boards and the whole room is becoming a good history of Reading Rugby Club. We still want some more memorabilia so ………….
IF YOU HAVE ANY OLD TEAM PHOTOS THAT WOULD HELP TO COMPLETE THIS FINE MEMORY OF READING RFC THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW, glyke@hotmail.com . IF THEY NEED REFRAMING IT DOESN’T MATTER, THE 200 CLUB STILL HAS A LITTLE MONEY TO ORGANISE THIS.
STUART HAS ASKED Luan and Alan FROM THE LADIES’ SECTION BUT IF THERE ARE ANY LADIES WHO HAVE ANY TEAM PHOTOS FROM PAST YEARS THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
We all want this to be done before the start of the new season, about 3 weeks away so don’t delay, contact me!!!!
We are sure that we will increase the membership to 200 once the new season starts, we only want 8 new members!!!! It may be that we will have a waiting list, that would be great as we had 55 members at the start of 2017. My thanks once again to the 200 Club Committee for all their hard work in increasing the membership.
Also thanks to all of you, our loyal members and to the new members.
We have some further requests in from RRFC and the Committee have agreed to fund some refurbishment of the entrance where the shop was, to update the medical suite at the Club and to purchase a new scoop stretcher to replace the old khaki one that helped get some of you off the pitch. We have also agreed to help the Ladies’ Team, The Kites, fund their League game away in Guernsey. The RFU do not fund the whole trip!!!!
The new season is just over 3 weeks away so I hope to see many of you at RRFC this coming September, I do not have news of the fixtures yet but they should be in the next Newsletter. Enjoy the new Season.
Best wishes,
Graham
