Preliminary Final: Rebels vs. Roos

The battle of Hamilton 17th of September 2016

History confirms that The 17th of September has been a day of immense battles; From the battle of Swiecino (1462) to the battle of Cecora (1620) to the battle of Kosabroma (1761) to the one that sticks out the most the 1775 invasion of Canada with the siege of Fort st Jean during the American Revolutionary war.

So it was more than apt that the Rebels football club battled the reigning champions of Ontario the Roos on the 17th of September with our own st Jean leading the defense.

The rebel Irish regiment trio of wizza, chemo and Melon were secretly delighted with the nostalgic deluge of rain that flowed from the sky like the rivers of the capistaro from early morning to right before throw in.

And so at 2pm with an 11th hour change of venue the siege of Hamilton began.

Coach bodz from the kiwi tribe prepared his side with military precision.
The defense led by captain scubs quashed an early attack by the roos and did not let their guard down when under attack. Across the battle field the mids gallantly led by Corporal Duncan fired relentless attack after attack hurting their opposition and building a fine lead 14 - 1 going into the quarter time huddle.

In front of a crowd of rebel favorable spectators and some battle weary old boys who made the trip to see the young guns succeed the second quarter was very much a similar affair with lieutenant Fabs firing accurately at every opportunity.
Battles are not won at half time but the rebels looked in good shape with 33 – 15 in their favor.

Some high flying theatrics from the rebels air squadron led by corporal brownie inspired the rebels to marche forward and take the third quarter 48 – 21. Shots fired by Murdock, Duff, Joshua and assists from players across the ground including brigadier bridge, el president Mont and Buddah secured a famous victory for the rebels on the battle of Hamilton who now move forward to the grand final for the first time in 11 years and try to regain the premier trophy omitted from our grasps since the year 2001.

Final Score: Rebels 10.12.72 defeat Roos 3.3.21
Goals: Ash 3, Murds 3, Fabs 2, Duffy, 1, Hegs 1.
