Associated Clubs - Barking Academy
Redbridge are proud to announce a link up with the Barking Abbey Centre for Football Excellence.
The deal with one of the regions best Football Excellence schools means alot to us, as it enables us to form a relationship with the school benefiting our youth system greatly.
We believe by linking up with the school it shows that as a club we are moving forward. As well as helping we hope some of the future stars of tommorow, we are showing our need to build our relationship with the local community.
Barking Abbey has had great success in the last couple of years. The programme works with young players aged 16-19, who have played at the highest level of schoolboy football.
Players have access to two UEFA Advanced License Coaches on site so learn structured training sessions every day. Players also have the opportunity to learn about coaching through various UEFA Coaching disciplines and awards.
The scheme is part of the F.A. development plan and fully endorsed by the F.A. Alongside from playing and learning football, players also study regular academic courses such as BTEC National Diploma Awards and A Levels. This is done so players have something to fall back on if they become unsuccessful in football.
As a link up with Barking Abbey, Redbridge gets first option on players from the school of excellence who will then represent us in the Capital League. Here they will then have a chance to step up to the first team.
The academy team will represent us in the Capital League, which we will use to increase our youth talent and make them feel like they can get in the first team
