FA Carlsberg Trophy 1st Qualifying Round
Horsham v REDBRIDGE/Chatham Town

Well overall that was a good draw for us. It's been a while since we've won a game in either the Cup or Trophy so we should be thinking positive of at least winning one of our 2 guaranteed games.

First up in the FA Cup will see us travel to play Barking who overcame Hadley in the last round. Barking of course are a team that we know alot about as more than a few players over the years have played for us and the Maysbrook Park club. Joint manager Dave Ross previously managed the Essex Senior League team as did our previous manager Jay Devereux. It would be nice to play Barking but whoever we play we're have to go there and do the job.

If we are successful over Hadley/Barking we're move into the 1st qualifying round of the Cup and have a home tie against Marlow/Hanwell Town or London Colney on September 11th. Marlow play in the Southern League Central Division at the same league level as us. Marlow on paper should be expected to beat the winners of the Hanwell Town/London Colney tie. Hanwell play in the same division as Hadley so could be a test for Marlow and it may be too much to ask of Colney who will find it a battle to beat Hanwell.

In the Trophy we are due to host Chatam Town at the Oakside on October 2nd. On paper this will be a close game. Chatham are a team we know alot about and after one season playing in the Ryman South, the Chats are back in our division next season. Encounters between Chatham have been close. The winners of this game face a difficult tie away to Horsham who play in the Ryman Premier on October 16th in the First qualifying round.

We hope that as many fans as possible can turn out to see us in those cup games as they are vitally important to us.
