Redbridge Chairman Daniel Holloway has released the following statement regarding the managerial situation at the club.

Redbridge FC have released a statement outlining their plans for the coming season very soon after securing their Ryman league status, in the hope it will encourage stability for the new campaign.

Caretaker manager Jody Brown, whom played such an important role in guiding the club away from the Relegation zone in the last 23 games of the season, will not be continuing his role as manager.
During Browns tenure, the side picked up 30pts from 23 games, with him having taken over with the club taking just 9 from 16 games. In this time, the side became more and more competitive and it was strongly felt by many, that with the acquisition of a proven goal scorer, that many of the 6 or 7 draws during that time would have been improved upon.

Jody, commented on the decision for him not to continue;
"I was keen to be in a position to take on the type of challenge I did, and be a success with very minimal resources" "I feel I have proved what I am capable of at Ryman level, as did many of our unproven young players" "I am very keen to be challenging, and moving up the football pyramid as a manager, and it was felt by all involved in the decision, that it would be difficult for me to do that at the current time"
"it may sound a selfish move, but it is the right one for the club and myself, and it will enable me to work closely with my friend, and chairman, Dan Holloway in developing the clubs infrastructure, youth policy, and coaching strategies, to enable a positive long term future for the club"
"I do intend on a return to management, but that will be when the time Is right for me on and off the field, and in an environment that I can succeed in"

Chairman, Daniel Holloway, who was part of the decision making process commented also; "Jody did the job that was asked of him, and the club are grateful for that. Things weren't good when he took over, but he steadied the ship and guided us to safety"

"Jody has a great future in the game I am sure, and I am pleased that he has committed to working alongside me to develop the club further on and off the field, and build the foundations for Redbridge FC to move up through the pyramid"

"his experience will be vital in our attempts to develop our own academy and youth set-up, as well as being a link between me and the first team set up"

Commenting on the clubs new Appointment, Terry Spillane ex stanstead manager Holloway also had this to say;

I wish to place on record my thanks to Jody Brown who filled in as caretaker manager for the last half of the season just gone, but now the time has come for a permanent appointment to be made. There has been considerable interest in the job and after much careful consideration I have decided to hand the post to Terry who steps up from Stansted in the Essex Senior League where he has had 2 fantastically successful seasons. In my view Terry ticks all of the right boxes for where the club currently sits, he is one of the most passionate and enthusiastic football people I have ever met, he clearly gets the very best out of players and has a great desire to prove himself at the higher level.

Terry will appoint whatever new staff he feels he needs to add to his own own backroom team over the week or so and will be speaking to the members of the current playing squad that he wishes to retain.

By making this appointment early I believe that the club is giving Terry with the support of the senior officers at the club the best opportunity to get things structured and moving forward ready for a strong start for next season. I'm very confident with terry, Jodie our new back room staff our currently lads and the new we are currently looking at we can all look forward to a very successful and exciting season.
