The hosts started the game well and went ahead after three minutes when Adam Wallace’s bright run down the right ended with the winger feeding the ball across goal for Jon Moore to fire home past Joe Wright from close range.

Redbridge fought back and were unlucky not a first-half equaliser. First Nathan Gordon put a ball across the box which Joe Gardner narrowly failed to divert home. Ben Bradbury immediately crossed the ball back into the box with Gordon unluckily striking the post from close range.

From an Enfield attack on 28 minutes Redbridge broke clear with Billy Sendall’s clearance finding Gardner 20 yards inside his own half. The forward broke clear running the best part of 60 yards past four players only to see his low shot fly straight at Noel Imber in goal.

After the break Enfield took control of the game with Liam Hope going close forcing Wright into an assertive save from the edge of the box. Jey Silva then combined with Hope to set up Neil Johnston to double Enfield’s lead after 55 minutes.

Wright continued to impress for Redbridge in goal but he was to concede a third in the later stages of the game when Leon Osei’s free-kick from the right touch-line eluded a crowded six-yard box creeping into the left-hand corner of the net. It just wasn’t to be the Motormen’s day.
