"Redbridge Men's Vets Earn Credible 3rd Place Finish"

Saturday saw the Redbridge men's vets take part, for the first time, in the 7-a-side vets tournament, hosted by Ford at Old Loughts.

There were five teams taking part in the tournament on a round-robin basis, with the top two sides contesting a final.

In their opening two games Redbridge were soundly beaten 4-1 and 5-1 by Satellites and Ford 1's.

However, after some tactical readjustments, the 'Reds' played much better in their next game - winning 1-0 against Ford 2's.

Their final game saw Redbridge draw 1-1 with Slough to finish the day on 4 points and in third place on goal diffference.

The final was won by Satellites who beat Ford 1 by 4-2, with Redbridge old boy Phil Montgomery scoring a hat-trick

All in all it was a highly enjoyable day and our old boys put in a creditable performance.
